All About Penelope

Jessica Arjet is the person behind Penelope Foolish, and has been performing as a clown since 1998. Originally, she was Mz. Squiggles, an Auguste circus-type clown, but in 2003 she decided to change her look and her name to Penelope Foolish. Penelope is a more “human” clown, who concentrates on playing with the children as a super-sized party guest. She’s not just there to put on a show–she makes sure everyone gets into the action and has a great time. As a “new vaudeville” style clown, Penelope puts a special emphasis on improvisation and physical comedy. When not Clowning around Penelope is an owner and the Youth Programs Director of The Hideout Theatre in downtown Austin.  And she runs The Flying Theater Machine- a special improv show for children every Sunday afternoon.
